GO plc, a major telecoms player on the island, “seem[s]” to be experiencing technical issues “that may be impacting broadband services for customers in central to southern areas”.
The company said it has dispatched its technical team “in full force to identify the root cause of the problem, and to gather further information on the matter”.
GO, taking to social media, said this will allow it to identify the best course of action to get impacted customers reconnected in the shortest time possible.
“No additional details are available to us right now, but we will be back with further information as soon as this is known to us.”
GO warned that as a result of the issues customers are facing, its contact centre is experiencing a higher influx of calls, so waiting time may be longer than usual.
“We apologise for the inconvenience.”
