An easyJet flight heading to Malta from London Gatwick on Monday morning was diverted.
The flight, EZY 8761, was due to depart at 6.30am and arrive in Malta at 10.40am.
However, the aircraft, an Airbus A319, had to make an emergency landing in Lyon about halfway on the trip to Malta.
An update by easyJet Operations Control at approximately 9am stated that the flight was diverted “due to a passenger requiring further assistance.”
Further updates said that the flight took off from Lyon again at 11.45am and is set to arrive in Malta at around 1pm.
