The Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) has announced that it will be organising three separate full day live conferences over the next three months, each targeting a particular sector at the forefront of the fight against money laundering and the combatting of financing of terrorism (AML/CFT).

These are the gaming sector (for both remote and land-based operations), the investment services sector (including collective investment schemes), and the real estate sector.

The purpose of these events, according to the FIAU, is to provide subject persons operating in these sectors, and other stakeholders, with updates and insights about the developments related to the field of AML/CFT.

Importantly, such developments include the way they may be impacted by the European Union’s AML Package.

These conferences will be held on the following dates:
• 29th September 2023 for the gaming sector
• 24th October 2023 for the investment services sector
• 30th November 2023 for the real estate sector

The agency said it would be releasing more information, including the agenda, in due course.
