The Gozo Business Chamber (GBC) and the Australian Maltese Chamber of Commerce (AMCC) have formalised a new framework for collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding signed on 28th November 2025.

The agreement was signed by GBC President Michael Galea and AMCC National Vice-President Joseph Borg, in the presence of the Australian High Commissioner to Malta, His Excellency Matt Skelly. It follows several months of discussions and preparatory meetings between the two organisations.

According to both sides, the MoU is intended to provide a structured basis for cooperation, particularly in areas where Gozo’s economy can diversify and strengthen its international connections. High Commissioner Skelly noted that the partnership holds “strong potential”, particularly in sectors where Gozo can broaden its economic activity.

The MoU sets out a framework for continued engagement, with both chambers indicating they will now begin identifying concrete initiatives that can be developed under the agreement.

The GBC and AMCC said they look forward to building on this initial step to support business links and opportunities between Gozo and the Maltese-Australian business community.
