KM Malta Airlines, the replacement for Air Malta, said it has received over 122,000 bookings in its first week, when it was taking bookings exclusively via its Call Centre.
As of Monday 11th December, it has launched its new website and is now taking bookings via this online platform.
In a statement, the new national carrier said that “as planned”, today saw the second phase of its reservation system being rolled out.
Customers can now book online through the new website and booking platform of KM Malta Airlines www.kmmaltairlines.com.
The first phase opened on Monday 4th December 2023 for all travel agents, third-party online booking platforms and individual bookings through the airline’s Call Centre. When the airline announced that it was taking bookings as of last Monday, many expected to be able to do so via a new website and were surprised to learn that initially, KM Malta Airlines were making use of phone bookings.
A week later, it has announced that “all reservation channels are now open”.
KM Malta Airlines stated that the number of bookings in the first seven days exceeded all expectations and “demonstrates the attractiveness of its new network strategy and the effectiveness of its new fare structures”.
Seemingly defending its decision to start taking bookings via its Call Centre before launching its website, the airline said: “The high demand from travel agents and from third-party online booking platforms corroborates the decision of the airline to implement a roll-out of its reservation system in a structured, risk managed and planned-phased manner for the benefit of its customers and sales partners.”
KM Malta Airlines Summer 24 Program
The KM Malta Airlines Summer 2024 schedule will operate from 31st March 2024 through until 26th October 2024, with the airline serving 17 airports across 15 key European cities, namely, Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Catania, Dusseldorf, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Lyon, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris Orly, Prague, Rome, Vienna and Zurich. KM Malta Airlines will operate its first scheduled flight on 31 March 2024.
