In 2025, The World, the largest privately owned residential yacht, will embark on a journey across five oceans, visiting 100 ports of call and spanning six continents, including Malta.

The vessel is ultra-luxurious and visits various regions and cities across the globe that are less explored and more remote. Detailing the 2025 journey, The World will begin its sailing voyage in Cabo San Lucas and conclude in Tasmania Australia, at the end of the year.

After Cabo, The World will be sail along the western coastline of the United States, then to southern Mexico and the Gulf of California.

By March, the vessel will travel to Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia. Among other areas, The World will make a brief visit to the Mediterranean where it will stop in Malta, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.

It will then proceed to destinations in the South Atlantic and Africa, including Namibia and South Africa.

The World was launched in 2002 and features 165 luxury residences, offering both shared and private homes on board. As the largest vessel of its kind, the ship measures 644 feet in length and has “world-class amenities” and only accommodates not more than 200 residents and guests.

Among the amenities and facilities, it offers six restaurants, golf facilities (including a simulator), a tennis court at sea, swimming pools, a spa and fitness centre, as well as destination lecturers, library, cinema, hobby and games rooms, among other features.

Every three years, it undergoes extensive renovations in a dry dock for extensive renovations and redesigns to update the ship’s restaurants, lounges and other facilities.
