Bank of Valletta (BOV) has released a new update for its BOV 3D Secure app which addresses a number of bugs and issues, and as a result urges its clients to update their apps before 2nd December if they want to continue online shopping without issues.
The app was launched in 2021 as a way to beef up security for its clients in an ever digitalising world. The manner in which it works is, that when an individual is making an online transaction, the individual must authenticate it through the app before the transaction can be concluded. The app also works even if you are unable to connect to the internet or even have reception on your phone.
If automatic updates are enabled on the client’s phones then they should not have to worry but it is always best manually to minimise the risk of being unable to conduct a purchase. BOV is Malta’s largest bank, and its 3Ds app has over 100,000 downloads across Android and IOS.
