The Corinthia Group has presented long-service awards to 74 colleagues celebrating milestones of between five and 35 years of service with the company.

Held every year on 6th December – marking Corinthia’s birthday, since it was on this day in 1962 that the company opened its first establishment at Villa Corinthia – Corinthia Chairman Alfred Pisani told colleagues that “just as a body without a soul is lifeless, so is a company without the support of its people”.

“It is important to look after our hotels like we look after our bodies but we must always bear in mind that is our people who represent the soul of the company,” Mr Pisani said.

Some of the awardees have spent their entire working lives with the company while others brought their talent to the Corinthia family more recently.

The Group has become a diverse set of companies encompassing hospitality – with its international chain of luxury hotels stretching from London to New York – as well as investment, development, catering, laundry and even a bakery businesses.

Each awardee received an elegant trophy, designed and handcrafted by Mdina Glass, from the Chairman and Corinthia CEO Simon Naudi on what proved to be a light-hearted and meaningful evening. Mr Naudi said: “This special day for Corinthia exemplifies our respect for both tradition and talent as the Group enters the next exciting phase of its growth and development. We look forward to many more memorable evenings ahead.”
