Former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall has been announced as the host of Battle of the Beasts, a new reality competition series set to film in Malta this October.

The show will bring together 10 of the strongest men in the world, including reigning World’s Strongest Man Rayno Nel and three-time winner Tom Stoltman.

The competition will feature a variety of challenges designed to push participants beyond traditional strongman feats, testing not only strength but also endurance, resilience, agility, pain tolerance, appetite, and combat skills. Events will include sumo wrestling, an eating contest, and even a belly flop challenge.

The series will be filmed in front of a live audience in Malta and later edited into a reality sports format. It is expected to premiere next summer, with distribution rights still open.

The project is being sponsored by Visit Malta and online sports betting and crypto casino Duelbits. It is produced by Camelot Films, whose recent credits include Russell Crowe’s Malta-shot feature Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher, released on Amazon Prime Video.

The series is benefiting from Malta’s film tax credit.

Eddie Hall, known as The Beast, made history in 2017 by becoming the first person to deadlift 500kg – a feat that cemented his status as one of the strongest men in history. His record has since been surpassed, with Hafthor Björnsson recently achieving a new milestone of 510kg.
