On Thursday (today), Malta International Airport has advised all passengers travelling through the airport between 1st and 6th December that Government-mandated border control check will be taking place.
This will impact all passengers departing from and arriving in the islands on these dates. These targeted controls are being implemented ahead of the 31st Ministerial Council of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which will take place in Malta next week.
Departing and arriving passengers, whether travelling to or from Schengen or non-Schengen destinations, are advised to have their travel documents ready for inspection to ensure a smooth journey through the airport.
Furthermore, MIA is asking passengers to refer to flight information displays for the latest information on their flight, or if in need of any assistance, to proceed to the MIA information desks located at Check-in or the Schengen Departures.
Finally, it also advised travellers to think ahead and thanked all passengers for their understanding and cooperation.
