JA Malta has officially launched the Financial Capability Awards, inviting nominations from individuals, schools, businesses and organisations working to improve financial education and inclusion across the country.

The initiative follows last year’s Financial Capability Conference, which brought together over 150 stakeholders from “banks, policy makers, organisations, educators and school leaders.”

Special recognition will be given to projects focusing on three categories: Sustainable Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship Education and Closing the Gender Gap.

According to JA Malta, the awards aim to highlight efforts that help people better understand and manage personal finances, a need that has become more pressing in the context of economic uncertainty and rising living costs.

Eligible applicants include individuals, educators, students, influencers, researchers, NGOs, schools and local councils working to improve financial literacy and inclusion in their communities.

The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on 15th October at the Radisson Blu in St. Julian’s. Nominations are open until 1st September and can be submitted through the JA Malta website. Participation is free.

JA Malta is the local branch of JA Worldwide, a youth-focused NGO promoting entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy. The organisation runs various programmes and initiatives, such as Company Programme and Leaders for a Day, “bridging the gap between education and employment.”
