The Labour Party has won the Maltese general election, its fourth successive electoral victory.
While the PL’s victory has been confirmed, initial indications show that the Nationalist Party managed to narrow the gap significantly from the 2022 election, with the margin estimated to be around 18,000 votes.
The PL was the overwhelming favourite to win the election, with Polymarket giving it a 95 per cent chance of returning to Government.
It means that Prime Minister Robert Abela, who has served in the role since 2020, is on course to spend over a decade in office.
