A new Property Price Registry has been set up in Malta to enhance transparency in the property market.

The registry, which was launched by the Property Malta Foundation, will provide users with verified price parameters for properties.

Data will be based on contracts registered since 2018 and not simply speculative or advertised prices.

The registry platform, developed by PwC Malta, includes features like advanced analytical tools, geospatial mapping and interactive dashboards.

While banks, estate agents and companies will have to pay a subscription fee to access the platform, citizens seeking information on a property they are considering buying will be able to request information from Property Malta free of charge.

Justice and Construction Sector Reform Minister Jonathan Attard endorsed the project, stating that property shouldn’t simply be viewed as an economic market but as a social reality that impacts people’s lives.
