Virtu Ferries

Virtu Ferries Ltd, the only sea vessel company that operates a passenger service to and from Malta, has issued a notice of possible changes in its weekend schedule. This is due to the forecasted unfavourable sea and weather conditions on Saturday 6th, Sunday 7th and Monday 8th January.

Therefore, Virtu Ferries advised that, although nothing is set is stone yet, “changes in schedule or cancellations might be necessary”.

In addition, it added extra trips on Friday 5th (tomorrow) to mitigate possible cancellations.

According to the mariners three-day forecast that covers an area of 50 nautical mile radius off the Maltese coast, Saturday is forecasted to be partly cloudy becoming cloudy with isolated showers. With regards to wind conditions, it is projected to shift from south-southwest force four to five, escalating to southwest force six to seven, leading to moderate to very rough seas.

Virtu Ferries invited passengers that wish to change their existing booking, cancel, or require further information to contact them on +35622069022 or through email on res@virtuferries.com.

It is understood that Virtu Ferries will update its passengers on social media.
