The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) has issued two public calls for lawyers and architects to join a pool of professionals meant to give assistance to citizens who are impacted by the construction sector.
Minister for Justice and Construction Sector Reform Jonathan Attard said: “One of the priorities that we have put before us in reforming the construction sector, is to give a stronger voice to those citizens who want to protect their rights from the construction sector. We will do this by investing in new services such as free legal and technical professional assistance.”
The Minister said that this service will eventually be complemented by a 24/7 helpline, where one can report and deliver their complaints.
He also reiterated his commitment to offer more reassurance to citizens who feel worried when negatively affected by any development taking place next to them.
The BCA will be receiving applications to select professionals to form this panel. This is to enable the launch of the new free service for the benefit of citizens affected by the construction sector.
The public call will be open until 29 March 2024 and can be accessed from the BCA website.
