Following the Annual General Meeting of the Estates Agent Section within the Malta Development Association (MDA) held yesterday at the AX Victoria Hotel in Sliema, Michael Bonello, CEO of Alliance Real Estate Group, has been re-elected to lead the its Estate Agents Section (EAS) for another term.

Bernard Mangion from Ben Estates was uncontested to retain his previous position of Vice President whilst Alan Grima from Dhalia was elected Treasurer.

The other elected Council members are David Aquilina from Belair, Stefan Consiglio from Pierre Faure Real Estate, Stephen Mercieca from Zanzi and Quicklets, George Vassallo from Frank Salt, Henry Zammit from The Elite and Sam Zammit from Remax.

Leon Chetcuti, CEO of the MDA opened the Annual General Meeting with an introductory speech outlining how the Estate Agents Section of the MDA has been developing to support the tremendous growth of Malta’s booming real estate industry.

“Through the EAS, MDA is today the largest association representing estate agents in Malta and Gozo and significant progress has been made to improve this important service to the industry and general public”, he said.

Mr Bonello also spoke about some of the major achievements of the previous council and his main objectives for the future.

These include continuous upgrading of the estate agents’ skill sets to deliver more value to end users and welcoming more of the smaller estate agencies to join the EAS in order to become even more inclusive across the board.

MDA President Michael Stivala and the MDA Council members congratulated the newly elected members on the EAS Council and stressed the need to continue working for the betterment of the property industry to elevate standards to new heights and improve the service and the product to the general public.
