The Malta International Fireworks Festival will return between 20th and 30th April. This cultural event is scheduled to illuminate the Maltese skies with a pyrotechnic show to which the organisations and firehouses of Malta and Gozo are expected to contribute.

The 2024 iteration of this event will include pyrotechnic shows in Valletta, Marsaxlokk, Nadur, Mellieħa and will culminate on the last day of the month with a show at Grand Harbour.

Details were announced in a press conference by Minister for Tourism and Public Cleansing Clayton Bartolo and Malta Tourism Authority CEO Carlo Micallef.

Minister Clayton Bartolo remarked that fireworks are an integral part of the country’s national identity: “The Fireworks Festival is held not only for tourists but also for Maltese and Gozitan families. It is an example of how we can expose the diversified product our country has to offer,” said Minister Clayton Bartolo.

MTA Chief Executive Carlo Micallef stated that the authority advertises the Festival of Fire across Europe and the rest of the world, so that specific groups of people make their way to Malta for the event. “This event helps Malta attract a different profile of tourists at a time when the busy summer season is a few weeks away,” Mr Micallef added.
