New data published by the National Statistics Office shows that Malta continued to register steady growth in cruise tourism throughout the year, supported by a higher number of cruise liner calls and sustained demand from both EU and non-EU markets.
A total of 387 cruise liner calls were recorded in 2025, up from 363 in the previous year. On average, each vessel carried around 2,250 passengers.
Passengers from EU Member States accounted for just under half of total traffic, while the remainder came from non-EU countries, with the United States and the United Kingdom among the main source markets.
In terms of demographics, women made up just over half of all cruise passengers, while the largest age group was those aged between 60 and 79, followed by passengers aged 40 to 59.
The figures underline cruise tourism’s continued contribution to Malta’s broader tourism sector during 2025.
