The application deadline for businesses to apply for financial support through the COVID-19 Wage Supplement scheme is fast approaching, with the deadline on 23rd April just days away.
According to Malta Enterprise which operates the scheme, “late applications will not be accepted”.
The organisation emphasises that “if your business has shut down as a direct impact of the Legal Notices, and you have not applied for the Wage Supplement as yet, you can do so by 23rd April”.
In March, the Government announced that business ordered shut in the latest new health measures to fight the spread of COVID would be eligible for “maximum assistance” via the wage subsidy.
Under this scheme, all businesses shuttered by legal notices as part of Malta’s quasi-lockdown are eligible to receive an €800 subsidy to help cover employee wages.
To apply for support under the scheme, businesses are urged to visit the Malta Enterprise website.
