Med Media Services Ltd (MMS), a Malta-based media and audiovisual company operating the international broadcasting platform Med.TV, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Teatru Manoel, Malta’s national theatre and a public cultural entity under the Ministry for Culture, Lands and Local Government.

Launched in October 2025, Med.TV, a television channel headquartered in Malta will focus exclusively on Mediterranean culture, lifestyle, and business.

The agreement “marks an important step” in promoting Malta’s artistic and cultural heritage to an international audience.

The MoU was signed on Thursday 18th December 2025, led by Anton Tabone, Chairman of Med Media Services Ltd and Edward Zammit, Chief Executive Officer of Teatru Manoel. This collaboration, a statement read, “represents a shared commitment to celebrating Maltese culture and bringing it to audiences around the world”.

Through this collaboration, a vast selection of artistic productions and cultural events performed at Teatru Manoel will be professionally recorded and broadcast internationally via Med.TV and its associated digital platforms.

The initiative aims to enhance Malta’s visibility as a centre of culture and creativity within the Mediterranean region and beyond, reaching potentially millions of viewers worldwide.

The MOU establishes a framework of cooperation between the public cultural sector and the private media industry, aligned with Malta’s Cultural Policy and Vision 2050.

In addition to broadcasting live performances and concerts, the partnership will support the creation of cultural and educational content, including documentaries, interviews and heritage features highlighting Teatru Manoel’s rich history, architecture and contribution to Maltese culture.

This agreement opens the door for joint participation in EU-funded and international cultural and audiovisual projects, reinforcing Malta’s cultural diplomacy efforts and supporting the long-term documentation and preservation of its artistic output.
