A high-level business delegation led by TradeMalta has returned from a successful mission to Osaka, Japan, where Malta-based enterprises, particularly those in the training and education sector, explored international growth opportunities and strengthened bilateral ties with Japanese counterparts.

TradeMalta is a public-private partnership between the Government of Malta and the Malta Chamber of Commerce, originally established to support Malta-based companies in expanding internationally.

Held from 14th to 22nd July, the mission coincided with Malta’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, and marked a key step in TradeMalta’s continued effort to help Malta-based companies expand into international markets.

The delegation’s focus aligned with Education Week at the Expo, which centered around forward-looking themes such as technology in learning, play-based education, and inclusive practices.

One of the mission’s focal points was the Japan–Malta Business Forum, held on July 18th, featuring an official address by Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Ian Borg.

TradeMalta’s program included B2B meetings, networking events hosted by the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and the Maltese Embassy in Japan, as well as stakeholder engagements at Malta’s Pavilion, where the island’s international profile was promoted in education, innovation and enterprise.

One-on-one meetings and follow-up engagements were also held to pave the way for future partnerships and expansion into Japan and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
