All travellers entering the UK will be required to take two COVID-19 tests while quarantining. The move is aimed at stopping new COVID variants from entering the country.
A new variant discovered in the UK last December led to a rapid increase in cases and the temporary banning of UK flights across much of Europe.
According to the BBC, all arrivals entering the UK will be expected to get a test on days two and eight of their 10-day quarantine period.
The UK Department of Health said the new rule will provide “a further level of protection”, paving the way for authorities to track new cases more effectively.

Currently, travellers arriving in the UK must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test to be allowed entry.
