A penthouse on top of one of St Julian’s luxurious hotspots, Mercury Towers, is up for grabs and on sale for the hefty price of €22 million.
The penthouse was featured on Mansion Global, an online platform that specialises on the global real estate market with the aim of targeting a high-net-worth audience.
Currently being marketed by Malta Sotheby’s International Realty’s Raj Daswani, he describes the residence as “a villa in the sky.”
Situated on the 28th level, the penthouse spans across the entire floor at 800 square metres, with sprawling views of the surroundings and the Mediterranean Sea.
The penthouse features five bedrooms and seven bathrooms while also including a home theatre, library, interior wine cellar, an interior walk-in closet, interior intercom systems, two home offices, a server room and a fully equipped gym. Included in the price are two garages.
Adding to its charm, its 100 square metre master bedroom has a private balcony and a modern bathroom with open-concept design housing a bath, twin shower and vanity facilities.
Interestingly, the penthouse has a VIP suite with its own lounge area, bathroom and walk-in wardrobe.
In terms of technology, the penthouse has lighting and climate control tech with underfloor heating and an emergency exit with an elevator that goes down to the basement level.
The interior of the residence blends contemporary design with a minimalistic ambiance using light and neutral colours with touches of gold, marble and wood.
Mr Daswani, in comments to Mansion Global, noted that the development forms part of a Special Designated Area project, “facilitating ease of transaction with overseas investors.”
“It can easily appeal to US investors but also to [ultra-high-net-worth-individuals] from other countries,” he concluded.
The Mercury Towers project, designed by the late Zaha Hadid, consists of the restored Grade II listed Mercury House, alongside a 33-floor residential tower – Malta’s tallest to date – and the five-star ME Malta Hotel by Meliá. A commercial mall and an accompanying car park were opened in 2023, and an entertainment area was also opened earlier this year.
