The Malta Chamber of SMEs, together with the Parliamentary Secretariat for Social Dialogue, has launched a new initiative aimed at supporting Maltese businesses during the Black Friday period.

The initiative centres on the platform www.blackfridaymalta.eu, which brings together offers and discounts from local shops and service providers in one place. The goal is to make it easier for consumers to shop locally while helping businesses boost visibility and sales ahead of the festive season. Visitors to the site can also participate in daily voucher giveaways.

Parliamentary Secretary for Social Dialogue Andy Ellul said that the Government’s objective is to continue offering tangible support to SMEs so that they can remain competitive in the local market.

“The occasion of Black Friday has become part of the calendar not only for Maltese and Gozitans but also around the rest of the world, and this presents an opportunity for Maltese businesses. Through this platform, we are making it easier for consumers to find good offers from local businesses. We are encouraging families to choose products and services from Maltese enterprises,” Ellul said.

Speaking on behalf of the Malta Chamber of SMEs, Marcel Mizzi described the website as a “simple and effective tool” for both buyers and sellers.

“Black Friday is an important day for Maltese businesses. Our aim is to encourage businesses to offer good discounts and for people to choose to shop from local enterprises. This platform makes it much easier for consumers to find all offers and business details in one place,” he said.
