Alkagesta, international commodities trader headquartered in Malta, has announced record results for the first half of 2026, reflecting continued growth in trading volumes, expansion into new product areas, and greater activity across its international network.

Revenue reached €3.02 billion ($3.5 billion) for the first six months of 2026 – a record half-year performance for the company, building on the 4.05 billion ($4.7 billion) generated across the full 2025 financial year. Trading volumes for the first half of 2026 rose 53 per cent year over year to 4.9 million metric tonnes, compared with 3.2 million metric tonnes in the same period of 2025. Based on current trading activity, Alkagesta expects full-year 2026 volumes to exceed 10 million metric tonnes.

The company attributes the positive performance to a continued focus on maintaining reliable supply to customers through a period of significant geopolitical and commodity-market volatility.

A defining development of the period was Alkagesta's entry into the aviation fuel market. Following the establishment of its capability to supply jet fuel through the NATO Central Europe Pipeline System (CEPS), the company commenced deliveries into the European aviation market, adding a new dimension to its middle-distillates platform. Alkagesta was also among the market participants to flag the impact of increased military use of the NATO CEPS pipeline on commercial jet fuel supply into European airports during the period.

Alongside this, Alkagesta completed its first crude oil transactions during the first half of the year, including end-to-end delivery of approximately 1.07 million barrels to the Far East – a controlled entry into a new market that broadens the company's commodity reach. Activity across steel and biofuels also increased during the period, further diversifying the product mix and customer base.

The Singapore hub continued to gain scale throughout the first half of 2026, with monthly trading volumes reaching approximately 250,000 metric tonnes, reinforcing the platform's role within Alkagesta's wider international trading network.

Speaking on the results, CEO Orkhan Rustamov said: "These results reflect the progress we have made through a measured and disciplined approach to growth. Despite significant volatility across global commodities markets, our focus has remained on serving our clients reliably and building our business on strong, long-term relationships. We will continue to grow strategically, step by step, strengthening our presence in the markets where we operate and ensuring that our communication lines, capabilities and regional networks remain resilient."

Senior members of the management team currently hold a 35 per cent equity stake in Alkagesta, with leadership expressing its intention to increase this further – reflecting confidence in the company's long-term prospects and a commitment to aligning management interests with the sustained success of the business.

Looking ahead, Alkagesta remains on track to deliver on its 2026 strategic priorities: expanding crude oil trading activity, scaling jet fuel distribution volumes, and growing its storage and logistics capacity. The multi-year biofuel storage agreement at Pantank in Antwerp, signed earlier this year, brought total storage capacity across Europe and Asia to 700,000 m³ – a platform that supports the company's continued commercial expansion across sustainable fuels markets.
