Customers wishing to make an appointment with their preferred Bank of Valletta (BOV) branch will now be able to do so without having to make a phone call or going into a physical branch. BOV’s new online booking system is now being rolled out nationwide following its success at the Bank’s branches in Birżebbuġa, Żejtun and Marsaxlokk.
Ease of use is at the heart of the new online booking system with convenient features allowing users to easily identify available time slots in their branch’s calendar, select their preferred time, input other details and confirm their appointment, BOV said in an announcement. Appointments can also be modified, and automated notifications and reminders set up while documentation required for the appointment will also be suggested.
Accessibility and management from any device is a key feature of the system. Such integration will allow changes made on one platform to be automatically updated on other platforms, thereby simplifying the booking process, and providing real-time access to information on appointments.
Chief Digital Officer at BOV, Theodoros Papadopoulos said that this initiative is the result of cross-functional collaboration between several teams within the bank, with the Retail Network providing invaluable input in the system’s introduction. Streamlining the appointment booking system will offer greater efficiency to bank employees and customers.
According to Mr Papadopoulos, extensive research has shown “that some people prefer to book and hold appointments remotely. We therefore crafted the system around these important bits of information, offering virtual meetings for some selected services and making the booking service available on mobile devices. Extensive customer testing was also part of the process to ensure full useability. We look forward to seeing our customers benefit from the new system, improving waiting times and the overall customer experience.”
Anyone wishing to make an appointment with Birżebbuġa, Żejtun, or Marsaxlokk Branch can access the portal via this link. Other branches are being added and will soon be accessible through the portal.
