KM Malta Airlines is expanding its European network with the introduction of a new direct service between Malta and Bordeaux, France, starting on 1st April 2027.

The airline said that the new route will operate twice weekly, every Monday and Thursday, providing passengers travelling from Malta with a direct connection to Bordeaux and the wider Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of southwestern France.

Flights will be operated by KM Malta Airlines’ Airbus A320neo aircraft, part of the airline’s modern and young fleet. The A320neo offers a lower noise footprint compared with previous-generation aircraft, as well as improved fuel efficiency, it added.

Bordeaux is renowned for its historic architecture, cultural attractions, celebrated wine region and distinctive gastronomy.

Commenting on the new route, David Curmi, Chairman of KM Malta Airlines, said: “The introduction of Bordeaux to our Summer 2027 network marks another step in strengthening KM Malta Airlines’ connectivity with France. This new service will offer greater choice and convenience for passengers travelling in both directions, making it easier for our customers to explore Bordeaux and for French visitors to discover Malta’s rich history, culture and Mediterranean character. We look forward to welcoming passengers on board and continuing to expand our network in line with our commitment to connecting Malta with key European destinations.”

Simon Dreschel, Chairman of the Management Board of Bordeaux Airport, said that the arrival of KM Malta Airlines in Bordeaux is a positive sign “for our goal of diversifying the range of services available from Bordeaux. We are pleased to welcome this new carrier among our partner airlines. Malta holds genuine interest for sectors based in the Bordeaux region, so having a direct link – especially with a dynamic airline that operates a modern fleet – is significant. This new route will therefore enhance opportunities for both business and cultural tourism departing from Bordeaux.”

Flights will be available to book through the KM Malta Airlines website and mobile app, as well as through travel agents and other authorised sales channels.
