Blue, a Romanian ride-hailing service powered by the eCabs Technologies mobility platform, has surpassed 400,000 app registrations in just three years since launch.

eCabs Technologies said the 400,000 milestone, made up of active users, makes Blue one of the strongest organic growth trajectories among independent mobility players in Eastern Europe in recent years.

The St Julians-based eCabs Technologies launched its ride-hailing solution for global mobility operators after undertaking a €21 million product development program.

Matthew Bezzina, Founder & CEO of eCabs Technologies, said: “Blue is one of the strongest proof points of our City Partner model. Three years ago, we built this marketplace from zero together with the Blue team.”

“Today, it’s a thriving mobility platform and demonstrates what can be achieved when world-class technology is combined with ambitious local entrepreneurs.”

Blue’s success has become a blueprint for eCabs Technologies' international expansion.

Andrei Stancu, Founder & CEO of Blue, said: “Reaching 400,000 app registrations is a fantastic milestone for our team. It reflects the trust that passengers, drivers and businesses continue to place in Blue. Three years on, we're still growing and we're only getting started.”

eCabs and Blue say that every rider, driver and business customer has been acquired organically.

Today, Blue operates in Bucharest, serves more than 1,100 business customers, and has built a network of over 3,100 registered drivers.

The next milestone comes later this month, when one of the largest taxi operators in a European city, launches on the eTL platform. Further City Partner launches in Latina America and Europe will follow in the coming months.
