Rather than creating a new strategy, the MDA believes Malta should continue building upon its existing long-term energy vision by maintaining sustained investment in electricity generation, distribution networks, renewable energy, battery storage, smart grid technologies and other critical infrastructure.
The MDA believes that the implementation of Malta's long-term energy vision should continue to evolve through regular review, investment and collaboration between Government, Enemalta and the private sector, ensuring that infrastructure keeps pace with the country's economic growth and future energy demands.

The MDA also believes that the implementation of this long-term vision would benefit from the establishment of a National Infrastructure and Energy Advisory Council to provide strategic advice, assess future electricity demand, identify long-term investment priorities and help ensure that Malta remains well prepared for future challenges.
