Two of Malta’s leading national architectural and planning awards – the MASP awards and the Premju Galizia – have been merged into a single event.
The Malta Architectural and Spatial Planning Awards (MASP) has been organised by the Planning Authority since 2019, while the Premju Galizia – named after the famous Maltese architect Emanuele Luigi Galizia – has been organised by the Kamra tal-Periti four times since 2018.
However, the Kamra tal-Periti and the PA have now come together to organise a single, stronger national award, which will officially be the fifth edition of the Premju Galizia.
A joint committee has been established with the aim of elevating the award, expanding its scope, and further enhancing recognition of professional excellence in Malta.
“The Emanuele Luigi Galizia Award reflects the strong spirit of collaboration between the Planning Authority and the Kamra tal-Periti, which have come together for the first time to recognise excellence in this field of planning,” Planning Minister Jonathan Attard said.
“As a government, this also reflects our vision of achieving higher standards. This is not simply the amalgamation of two awards.”
“It is a national platform that brings together the best experiences, best practices, and highest aspirations of both the profession and public institutions.”
