Prime Minister Robert Abela, together with Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne, will be jointly addressing a press conference Monday afternoon (today) at 3pm.

Last week, Minister Fearne had revealed on TVM’s Xtra that the Government would be publishing and issuing Malta’s vaccine certificate by this week so that it can be used to resume some limited activities. It may also be used to bypass the negative PCR test requirement when entering Malta.

While no agenda was supplied with the notification of Dr Abela’s and Mr Fearne’s press conference, with just one day away from Malta reopening to international tourism together with the Health Minister’s comments last week, it could be related to Malta’s roll out of the vaccine certificate.

As of tomorrow, masks at the beach will no longer be required, seated weddings can resume and language schools may physically reopen.

In addition, the European Medicines Agency announced that the Pfizer vaccine may be administered to children between 11 and 15.
