This winter edition of Business Now magazine, the sister brand to BusinessNow.mt, begins by attempting the impossible: predicting what 2023 will bring for local business.

Produced by Content House Group, one of Malta’s largest media organisations owning and managing over 20 media brands in the online and print sectors, Business Now magazine Winter 2022/2023 takes things up a notch in its third-ever edition.

“In a post-COVID-19 scenario – and with the backdrop of a war on the European continent – Malta’s economy continues to gather pace in its recovery from the onslaught of the global pandemic. But will the staggering inflation, supply chain issues, global energy crisis, rising salaries and cost-cutting in public spending begin to bite in 2023?” asks Sarah Muscat Azzopardi, editor of Business Now magazine.

This latest edition picks the brains of five leading industry figures for their take as part of the cover story. Indeed, Farsons Group CEO Norman Aquilina, AX Group Hospitality and Care Director Claire Zammit Xuereb, BRND WGN CEO Peter Grech, Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa General Manager Alex Incorvaja and QuickLets, Zanzi Homes and QLC Commercial Real Estate Co-Founder and CEO Steve Mercieca provide their unique insights as to the bets they are placing on 2023.

And, while looking towards the future is imperative, celebrating Malta’s past also forms an important part of this issue. Indeed, the interesting story of one of the oldest local food importation companies is discovered, and the career of leading industry veteran, Joseph Zammit Tabona, is charted.

Elsewhere, Business Now magazine champions triumphs in local commercial design by taking a look at the recently completed Cisk Tap within the iconic Farsons; learns about the inspiring philanthropic efforts of restaurateur Rafel Sammut; and whets its appetite as four exceptional low-profile traditional eateries spread around Malta and Gozo’s villages are explored. Rounding off this edition, artist Wallace Falzon’s journey of self-discovery through art is delved into.

Core members of the Business Now magazine team include Editor Sarah Muscat Azzopardi, Head of Sales and Business Development Marie Claire Camilleri, Operations & Accounts Manager Sue Ann Pisani, and Creative Director and Design Nicholas Cutajar.
