Creditinfo Malta today announced the successful establishment of an API connection to the Central Bank of Malta’s Central Credit Registry (CCR).

This will further strengthen the company’s ability to provide efficient, secure, and reliable credit information and credit scoring services to financial institutions and authorised stakeholders, CreditInfo Malta said in a statement.

“The API integration enables streamlined and automated access to CCR data, supporting faster decision-making processes, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced risk assessment capabilities for lenders and other authorised entities.”

Creditinfo Malta is licensed as a Credit Reference Agency by the Commerce Department’s Trade Licensing Unit, in consultation with the Central Bank of Malta, which also acts as the Supervisory Authority.

“This regulatory status reflects the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of compliance, data security, transparency, and responsible information management,” the company said.

“This API connection represents another important milestone for Creditinfo Malta and reinforces our commitment to innovation within Malta’s financial services ecosystem,” said Clifford Debono, Country Manager & Director, at Creditinfo Malta. “By facilitating secure and efficient access to Central Credit Registry data, we are helping financial institutions and other sectors improve credit assessment processes while supporting responsible lending practices.”

The integration aligns with Creditinfo Malta’s broader strategy of leveraging technology to deliver advanced credit reporting and risk management solutions that meet the evolving needs of the financial sector and bolster financial inclusion in the region.

As part of the global Creditinfo Group, Creditinfo Malta continues to invest in digital infrastructure and regulatory excellence to support the development of a more transparent and data-driven credit environment in Malta.
