Enemed, the state-owned company responsible for the local importation and sale of petroleum products, said it isn’t anticipating any supply chain disruptions since the start of the Iran war.

Iran has closed off the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial passage through which around 20 per cent of the world’s crude oil and natural gas passes, triggering fears of a global energy crisis.

However, Enemed Executive Chairman Kevin Chircop told BusinessNow.mt that Enemed’s suppliers source fuels from the Mediterranean region, normally from European countries.

“Hence at present we are not seeing any changes happening since the advent of the war,” he said.

Mr Chircop confirmed that Enemed has a preparedness plan in place to ensure a continuous supply of fuel products and is maintaining constant contact with its suppliers to minimise any potential disruptions in the supply chain.
