The 2022 edition of the Yacht Racing Forum will take place in Malta over two days, hosting discussions on the latest technologies and innovations by pioneers in the field.

The prestigious conference, which is scheduled to take place in November 2022 and is expected to bring together over 300 delegates from several different countries, will be discussing various topics concerning the maritime industry.

This will be the second time Malta is hosting the forum, with the 2016 edition also held in the country.

Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects Ian Borg, during a press conference held at the Royal Malta Yacht Club, praised the initiative and said it is an honour that a prestigious conference such as the Yacht Racing Forum will be held again in Malta.

“Such conferences are essential because they strengthen both the relationship between all parties and are an effective platform for a mature discussion on how certain ideas with strong potential should be implemented in the most wise and secure way,” he said.

The Minister continued: “The pandemic has had some effects, but it does not mean that we have stopped working for the maritime sector in our country. I am proud to say that today we have close to the thousand superyachts registered under the Maltese flag, making us the largest register of superyachts in the world.”

“As a government that knows the calibre and level of its maritime sector, we will continue to work, come up with more ideas, participate and discuss so that this sector continues to improve and continue to build a truly quality, confidence and reputation sector,” he concluded.
