The Malta Chamber is organising an information session titled Do Not Look Away – Gender-Based Violence Is Also a Business Issue, focusing on employers’ legal obligations, workplace harassment and the support available to employees affected by gender-based violence.
The session will address the legal obligations of employers in maintaining a workplace free from harassment, including sexual and gender-based harassment. It will also examine the legal tools available to employers to protect employees when such acts are perpetrated by other employees, as well as the procedures employers need to follow to comply with employment-related legislation.
The initiative is funded by the Commission on Gender-Based Violence and Domestic Violence through the Together We Empower – A Future without Violence programme.
The event will also provide employers with the opportunity to learn how they can address gender-based violence and contribute to a safe working environment and society at large.
The session will take place on 28th October 2026 at The Brewhouse, Mdina Road, Zone 2, Central Business District, between 8:30 am and noon.
During this session, there will be a panel discussion focusing on how employers and human resources professionals can support employees who may be victims of gender-based violence, whether at work or in their private lives.
The panel will feature Sharon Attard De Giovanni of Victim Support Malta; Ramona Galea, Head of People and Culture at Lufthansa Technik Malta Ltd; Mariella Galea, Founder and HR Consultant at HR TalentLEAD; and Patrick Psaila, Founder and Director of PsyPotential Ltd. Rachel Bondi Attard will moderate the discussion.
The event will conclude with closing remarks by Samantha Pace Gasan, Commissioner for Gender-Based Violence and Domestic Violence.
